We have arrived at an oasis. After the past 2 weeks trekking and moving across the bumpy terrain of Bolivia, San Pedro de Atacama is a true wonder. A small tourist town (similiar in feel to Taos, NM), on the edge of Moon Valley, Atacama seems to have it all- artisans, great restuarants!!, excellent wine selections,!! interesting excursions and great hostals. And, very important, plenty of hot showers.
Unfortuantely(?) it does seem to be missing a real-estate office, or we may have purchased property and decided to stay, however, we do have to move on ... this afternoon we are off to our final destination, Santiago.
We will definitely be back to Atacama.
